Time To Ride Again!
How’s your Saturday morning? Preparing for the day? Being bombarded by animals who are so excited to see you (again) and start the day (again)? Almost time for the treats and morning potty runs. But first… thanks for waking up with us, happy weekend, here’s some South Shore Stuff, let’s hang 10!
New England Longboard Classic Surf Contest hits Nantasket Beach This Sunday
Come for the surf contest, stay for the par-tay.
This Sunday Nantasket Beach will host the 23rd Annual NELC Surf Contest. The event is run by the Frodigh family. Chick Frodigh, a gnarly surfer for 55 years, started the New England Longboard Classic with his wife Susan in 1999. Their children Charlie and Katie are directors of the Classic now, while Chick and Susan still play active roles.
Charlie Frodigh says of the event, “surfing has given so much to us. We love to provide a day of fun for all ages to give back to the local surf community and kick off the summer right.”
If you’d like to attend, just pack for a day at the beach! SPF, layers, plenty of water all recommended. Admission is free, just go, watch, and make new friends! You’ll be dancing with them at the afterparty across the street at Shoreline Kitchen + Bar. There will be live music, a non-profit silent auction, food, and dancing! Woop woop.
NELC Schedule - Sunday June 9th:
8-9am - REGISTRATION (Day-of Sign-ups)
9am-2:30pm - CONTEST (Actual times will vary depending on most optimal best and safest waves)
3-5pm - NECL AFTERPARTY at Shoreline Kitchen + Bar

Farmers Market Season is Upon Us!
Man, I love a good Farmers Market. I love the community, energy, and tradition nearly as much as I love the offerings. Fruits and veggies in every color of the rainbow, the freshest meats and fish and cheeses, handmade arts, and mom & pop local businesses fighting the good fight to be seen and make an impact. I’ve been cheering for the farmers markets my whole life - I remember feeling that same way as a young kid too. I’ve always loved fresh food, fresh air, vibrant excitement, and entrepreneurship and they’re all on full display at the farmers market!
This season I plan on going to as many farmers markets as possible around the South Shore and making a little video for each. I started at the second oldest farmers market in Massachusetts: the beloved Hingham Farmers Market. And here’s the video:
When are the markets??

I was going to type up a list of all the markets and when and where they are… BUT… I found a wonderful guide that South Shore Home Life & Style already put together, so big shout out to that wonderful publication and CLICK HERE to see their comprehensive list of South Shore farmers markets. And maybe we’ll bump into you at one this season!
The Country’s ‘Oldest House on the Market’ is for Sale in Plympton
You could be the proud new owner of ‘the oldest house on the market’ in America (and likely a whole gaggle of new ghost buddies with all that history) if you make it to closing for the $800,000, 2,503-square foot home at 25 County Road in Plympton, known as the Stephen Bryant house.
It was built waaaaaaayyyy back in 1669 - 355 years ago!! Obviously the house is getting a lot of attention due to its “oldest house on the market” moniker. In 6 days on Zillow it’s already had almost 30,000 views. You can view it too and read all about it, RIGHT HERE.
5 Things to Do This Weekend from our friends at Macaroni Kid South Shore

‘Crepes & Capes’ opens to protect Weymouth from Blandness
/And finally we leave you with this cool little shop that opened less than a month ago at 22 Washington St in Weymouth.
I saw it when it went locally semi-viral for its interesting batter-cake/superhero fusion concept. We had to go see it for ourselves to share it with you! Have a wonderful weekend everyone. If you like what you read, forward to a friend perhaps? Maybe they’ll like it too and subscribe HERE.
Thanks for being awesome supporters, see you next week! Until then I’ll be in Cohasset staring at these babies wishing one were mine. Ahhhhh… that’s fake nice…
